Water main break closes Hoboken streets (PHOTOS)

A 12-inch water main ruptured Tuesday morning in front of the Church Towers residential complex in Hoboken, flooding local streets and causing water pressure issues across the city.
The break was reported at approximately 5 a.m. at the intersection of Fifth and Clinton streets.
Veolia Water, which operated and maintains the water system in the city, said at 9:15 a.m. crews have isolated the main and “pressure will be stabilizing systemwide.”Veolia officials noted that repairs would require a service interruption impacting Church Towers.
Local streets were closed for the repairs.
