Donald Trump’s granddaughter Kai Trump posted a photo with billionaire Trump supporter Elon Musk on a Sunday outing, captioning it, “Elon achieving uncle status.”
Musk, the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla and the owner of X (formerly Twitter), has grown close with the Trump family after helping the president-elect beat Vice President Kamala Harris in last Tuesday’s election through his pro-Trump political action committee, America PAC.
Kai, the 17-year-old daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and his ex-wife, Vanessa Trump, posted the TikTok clip with the caption “Sundays with Grandpa.”
There were three photos in the TikTok video—the first with Kai and her grandfather; the second with Kai, her 10-year-old sister, Chloe Trump, and Grandpa Trump; and the third with Kai, Musk and Musk’s 4-year-old son, X Æ A-12.
Kai also posted the photo with Musk and his son on X on Sunday and captioned it “Elon achieving uncle status.”
Musk, who has visited Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in West Palm Beach, Florida, since the election, commented on Kai’s photo on X, writing, “Lil X is being such a troll.”
While Kai and Musk were all smiles in the picture, little Musk was scrunching up his nose and putting a golf ball to his eye for a silly photo opportunity.
Meanwhile, Kai shared a postelection photo of the Trump family with Musk and his son last Wednesday, captioning it “The whole squad.”
Newsweek reached out via email to Trump’s communications director, Steven Cheung, for comment and to X for comment from Musk.
Musk endorsed Trump for president earlier this year, and his super PAC held multiple $1 million daily giveaways that went to registered voters in swing states.
Following his endorsement of Trump, Musk poured over $100 million of his own money into Trump’s campaign and made public appearances on Trump’s behalf in the battleground state of Pennsylvania. He also used his X account to share a stream of pro-Trump content with his 204.2 million followers.
Trump has publicly sung Musk’s praises for his efforts in the campaign. At Trump’s election night party in Florida, Musk was the guest of honor, speaking privately with Trump during the event and getting a shoutout in the president-elect’s speech to supporters.
Since the election, there has been some speculation that Musk might get a spot in Trump’s administration. Trump has signaled at least some openness to the idea of Musk spearheading cost cutting across the federal government.
“He’s dying to do this,” Trump said about Musk in an October interview with Fox News. “You know, he’s a great business guy, actually…and he’s a great cost cutter…and he said, ‘I could cut cost without affecting anybody.'”
